ALASTAIR NEWHOUSE FRICS

Principal Surveyor

A Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years in the industry, Alastair brings a wealth of experience gained in an eclectic career that has taken him around the world from surveying the towns, villages and valleys of Wales to working as a licensed valuer on the coast and in the forests of Western Australia, before returning to Brixham, a place that he has been proud to call home for the last fifteen years. In his own words, “I have been to and seen some amazing places in my career, but none of them can match the sheer beauty of South Devon, from the coast to the moor, there is nowhere quite like it.”

With an unrivalled depth of property knowledge in Teignbridge, Torbay and the South Hams, Alastair also brings a depth of understanding of building construction, pathology and defect analysis, that will ensure that you receive the best advice, tailored to your individual requirements.

This knowledge and experience is at the heart of the vision for Orestone Surveyors. In an industry that has become increasingly dependent on fast turnover generic reporting using one size fits all, standard paragraphs, Orestone Surveyors Ltd will provide a bespoke service, providing clear, detailed and factual reports backed by the personal touch that will give clients the confidence that they need to make those important property decisions.

When not out “on the ladders” Alastair likes nothing more than yacht racing at Brixham Yacht Club, supporting the mighty Brixham RFC or walking Willow, the office labrador, on the South West Coastal Path.

ELLIE NEWHOUSE

Client Services Manager

Having grown up as workmate to a father who built her childhood homes, literally by hand, Ellie was always destined for a life in property. Starting out as a receptionist for one of the oldest, Chartered Surveying and Estate Agency practices in South Wales, Ellie soon progressed to senior negotiator before becoming office manager to a busy firm of Chartered Surveyors.

Taking advantage of an opportunity, Ellie and the family moved to Western Australia and opting for a career change, Ellie retrained to become a Teaching Assistant in the small coastal town of Busselton. On returning to South Devon, however, it wasn’t long before Ellie’s love of property was reignited and the lure of Estate Agency saw her taking on the role of Negotiator in Agencies covering Paignton and Brixham.

A stickler for detail and organisation, Ellie will ensure that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently, appointments are booked and reports are returned in a timely manner, ensuring that all of our clients can relax with the confidence that Orestone Surveyors will guide them through their property journey with the maximum support and the minimum of fuss.

When not ensuring that all is in order in the office, Ellie likes nothing more than getting out into the South Devon countryside with her beloved labrador, Willow.
